SMILES will be brought to the faces of poorly children thanks to a generous donation by staff at South Yorkshire’s biggest bus company.

Drivers on First’s charity committee have handed £3,000 to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity’s Giggle Doctors project.

The Giggle Doctors are no ordinary clowns - they are specially trained not just in entertaining but also in medical awareness and artistic development and bring smiles and magic to the wards of the hospital.

Bus driver Derek Russell, a member of First’s charity committee, said: “We hope our donation will really help bring a smile to the children.

“As the principal bus operator in Sheffield we see it as our responsibility to offer support to local charities. Our regional charity and sponsorship committee is available to those good causes needing a financial helping hand.”

First’s charity committee has three preferred themes - young people, health and the environment.
