A heartbroken South Yorkshrie foster family are appealing for the safe return of their beloved cat who they rescued following a holiday in Corfu.

The McDonald family have been searching for Arthur since he disappeared from their home in Aston Common, Aston on September 18.

They fear the white cat – who has a blue and a yellow eye – may not survive an English winter on his own.

The family fell in love with Arthur, who is deaf, during a holiday to the Greek island of Corfu in 2010, where they found him fending for himself on the streets.

They were helped by a local cat charity to bring him home in early 2011.

Foster mum Lisa McDonald said: “He quickly became the centre of the family, a special cat who, despite his early traumatic experiences of human beings, gave his love unconditionally to all members of the family, including the family’s three dogs.”
