SHEFFIELD-born world squash number one Nick Matthew confesses to big match nerves of a different kind ahead of an engagement at Hallam University on March 1.

He is the latest participant in the In Conversation series, and is expected to reflect on the help given by sports facilities in his home city and to reveal some of the psychological tips he has used to rise to the top of his sport.

“It’s good to be out of my comfort zone,” said Nick, aged 31, a member of Hallamshire Squash Club in Ecclesall Road.

“I get big match nerves and know I need these to raise my game a bit – this experience will be a bit similar.”

Tickets for the event, at the Pennine Lecture Theatre on the city centre campus at 7pm, are free but must be booked in advance.
