Big-hearted animal lovers are being urged to come forward and give a home to a dog whose owner died suddenly.

Susie, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, is being cared for by staff at Rain Rescue in Wickersley, Rotherham, but needs a permanent home.

Lauren Sanderson, deputy charity manager at Rain Rescue, said: “Seeing any dog in kennels is heartbreaking - it isn’t where they belong but it is extra sad to see the older dogs - with cold winter nights around the corner we are desperate to see Susie in a home, cosy and curled up on a nice comfy sofa.

“Susie has been very much loved before arriving with us and is not used to kennels, she’s finding the experience very stressful and upsetting.”

Susie is 11-years-old and has previously lived with other dogs.

She has had her health check and included in her adoption is every thing she would need for a happy new life including;- Vaccinations, neutering, microchipping, flea and worming treatment, collar, lead and ID tag as well as four weeks free insurance.

In the last year Rain Rescue has rescued and rehomed 56 Staffordshire Bull Terriers.

Anyone who can give Susie a home can contact the charity through their website at www.rainrescue.co.uk or ring them on 07725888207.
