A visit from Nick Clegg was the latest accolade for Heather Tingle, who runs the post office, cafe and village in Low Bradfield.

Flask End - in the Deputy Prime Minister’s Hallam constituency - was declared the best village shop/post office in Yorkshire in the Countryside Alliance awards, which highlight efforts to promote rural communities. Nominations come from customers.

Mr Clegg said the Bradfield is “one of the most picturesque places in Sheffield”, and now there is another reasons to visit it. “I was particularly impressed by the post office tearoom and village shop selling local produce. It’s clear the post office is an integral part of village life and everyone involved deserves a huge amount of credit.”

Heather, who launched her business a year ago, said: “We are committed to being friendly, convenient and keeping Flask End as a community resource.”
