Stanage to stay free

The Peak District National Park Authority is to keep Stanage Edge and the surrounding North Lees estate under its wing.

It has decided against leasing the area to other organisations, but says a business plan will mean people may have to pay more for the likes of parking, camping, refreshment concessions or for using buildings.

“But they can rest assured that there would never be any restriction or charge for access,” said committee chair Christopher Pennell.
