THE scent of fresh coffee is an aroma most people find irresistible.

But 20-year-old Lauren King can’t stand the smell, so much so that she ranked bathing in a tub of coffee beans even worse than taking a dip in a bath filled with maggots.

The student took part in a three-hour sit-in at Meadowhall, encouraging volunteers to sign up for Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning appeal.

Lauren, from Wisewood, said she was inspired to support Macmillan after her grandmother died of lung cancer.
