Dom Chambers and Emma George left Barnsley College for New York after their short film was chosen as a finalist in the World Youth Alliance’s international competition.
Their 10-minute work, People Like Me, was chosen along with 14 other short films from young directors across the world.
The 18-year-olds stayed in a hotel near Times Square and visited the city’s landmarks.
Emma said: “It was an amazing experience - I am never going to forget it.”
