IF YOU want to get ahead get a hat.

That’s what Sundance the tiny pony is urging people to do.

He and his friends at Pet Samaritans in Derbyshire are hoping for lots of entries to their Easter Bonnet competition.

The contest is part of the sanctuary’s Easter Fair which takes place at Coal Aston Village Hall on Sunday, April 1, from 10am.

Volunteer Laura Bentley, helps at the sanctuary on Broomhill Road, Old Whittington, Chesterfield.

She is pictured here with her young son Max.

Laura said: “Prizes include a giant chocolate egg for the best bonnet, and the fair will provide family fun with stalls, competitions, crafts, face painting, a tombola and hook a duck.”

There will also be a cupcake stall, homemade scones and cakes.

The charity was set up in 1990 and looks after dogs, cats, horses, goats, chickens and farm animals.
