Supermarket staff clean up communities
Staff from Asda in Chaucer Road, Sheffield gearing up for the Big Litter Pick.
SUPERMARKET workers are turning eco-warriors in their bid to clean up Sheffield communities.
Employees from the city’s Asda stores are asking communities to nominate local spaces in need of a sprucing up as part of the company’s national Big Litter Pick project.
Customers are being urged to highlight hotspots for Asda’s ‘A Team’ to tackle when it hits the road to carry out clean-up operations this month.
Nominations can be made at any Asda store in Sheffield via a suggestion box at the Community Life area or by speaking to the community champion.
Kealey Grainger, community champion at Asda on Chaucer Road in Parson Cross, said: “We’re really looking forward to getting stuck in by helping to clean up South Yorkshire. We hope to make a real difference tidying up anything from a park, path or play area, so we’re really keen to hear from the community and pinpoint some areas.”
