PROJECTS tackling the stigma of mental health problems in Sheffield have been given a cash boost.
The national Time to Change programme has awarded £533,600 in funding to a number of organisations and community groups in a bid to combat stigma and discrimination.
Among those set to benefit is the Let’s Get Talking scheme run by Sheffield Mind in partnership with Pakistan Advice and Community Association and Sheffield Health and Social Care NHS Trust.
Bridget Strong, chief executive at Sheffield Mind, said: “We are delighted to receive funding and can’t wait to get started with our work. Our project volunteers will make a film that looks at stigma and discrimination across the generations in Pakistani and Somali communities.”
