Tap into this special city
Bob Worm is the 38-year-old managing director of events production company called Events Collective Ltd, which is organising the Highland Fling Town & Country Fayre, under contract from promoters Green City Events, in Graves Park on Sunday and Monday.
If the weather is kind, more than 30,000 visitors are expected.
Born and raised in Walkley, he has lived all over the city. At 17 he moved to Jersey in the Channel Islands for a year to become a chef.
After working in catering for many years, Bob started promoting live bands at the Arches night Club in 1995.
Since then he has staged more than 120 successful events in Sheffield. He recently married Carol and became dad to Christopher, 12, and Oliver, 11. The family are currently living in Marple, Stockport, with Bob commuting to Sheffield six days a week for the last year. They are currently looking at new homes around Sheffield.
Landscapes and parks
My favourite view of Sheffield is from the top of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital. The cityscape of concrete and steel blends so easily into the green hills and natural beauty of the south of the city. As a child I used to watch the sun go down from atop the jutting ship-shaped rock on the top of Bole Hills recreation ground, on which I fought and won many battles as a pirate.
My favourite park is Weston Park. I have spent many wonderful sunny afternoons in there with friends playing music and eating good food. I used to sit and watch the Tai Chi group on their early evening session as the sun set.
Eating out - and Henderson's Relish
Uncle Sam's in Ecclesall Road is the place for tasty food that takes me back to being seven or eight and having my first double cream cheese burger, whilst gazing for hours at all the cool posters and cards on the wall.
For really amazing food now its gotta be Zeguma on London Road. It's a Turkish place with just one chef, but he can cook up a storm. Every time I go in I over-order like a fool because there are so many things on the menu that I love. I never finish it and always end up taking loads home.
Along with Richard Hawley and many others I am particularly fond of Henderson's Relish - the best dish for the stuff is homemade meat and tater pie - although I don't think it is as strong as it used to be.
City centre shopping
I am a city centre shopper. I do use Meadowhall occasionally, but it's all in the town centre for me. John Lewis, or Cole Brothers to give it its proper name, is an institution that stands alone. Christmas has always been all the more special for the gifts I buy in Cole's. Rare and Racy in Devonshire Street is great place to find music and books. Alan and Joe who run it are nice guys who have fought a tough battle to be appreciated.
Hillsborough and the Devonshire Quarter
I feel very lucky to have lived in Hillsborough for a couple of years. The corner is always alive with the throng of nice folk. The Deep End was always a great night out with loads of new bands and crazy cabaret and cinema evenings.
I used to have a rehearsal studio and promotions base in the mid-nineties on Regents Terrace off West Street called the Collective. West Street and Division Street have seasons of being the best night out in town - from the long gone days of the Pyjama Jump to the Devonshire Green festivals that turned hot summer days in Sheffield into a mini Glastonbury.
Great gigs
I have seen so many bands at so many venues. One of my all time great gigs in town was the sadly missed amazing and crazy Arthur Lee and Love in 2006 at the Leadmill. I saw a fantastic Pulp gig at the City Hall on their homecoming tour. In the same year I saw them at Glastonbury blowing thousands of people's minds.
Tony Capstick is the person most missing from the media in Sheffield. He was an extraordinary man. I was interviewed by him a couple of times for the radio. He was very funny and so Sheffield in his ways.
Sheffield Telegraph
I have been an avid reader of the Sheffield Telegraph for over 15 years. Its not just an end-of-the-week news round-up, but it's the articles and the people who write them that make it essential for those wishing to place their fingers on the pulse of what's going on in the big city. I have always found the listings and culture section to be spot-on.
Pride in Sheffield - and its tap water
I think that Sheffield has really made its mark on the world. Our steel has forged the foundations of so many homes and business. The success of our bands, entertainers and artists has pushed Sheffield into being the thriving and vibrant city, known the world over as a place for art and culture. Having more parks and green spaces than any other city in the UK has ensured that the loss of steel has not turned Sheffield into a shadow of its former self. I am always proud to tell people I am from Sheffield. The tap water is the best I have ever had from anywhere. I believe that Sheffield is by far the nicest and coolest place to live ... if we can just sort out the state of the roads !
