THE traditional jockey silks will be getting a Royal wedding makeover at Doncaster Racecourse this week.

Betfair, the online bookmaker, has commissioned one-off racing colours in designs inspired by a bridal gown and military uniform, in celebration of the Royal nuptials on Friday.

The creations will be modelled at the Town Moor track on the wedding day ahead of Betfair’s sponsored race, entitled the Will They Marry furlong handicap stakes.

“The whole world wants to know what the happy couple will be wearing on their big day - Kate in particular,” a racecourse spokesman said.

“Speculation over who would be designing their outfits prompted us to throw our hat into the ring and create something truly unique for the occasion.”
