PETER and the Wolf isn’t called a timeless classic for nothing.

Anne Robinson saw it on a school trip to the City Hall when she was at primary school in Sheffield in the 1950s.

And she would sing it to her daughter Louisa when she was young.

On Sunday, it was the turn of granddaughter Eliza Register, aged four, on another trip to City Hall.

The three were part of a big family group attending a performance of Peter and the Wolf by the Endcliffe Orchestra and narrated by Rony Robinson, of BBC Radio Sheffield.

Proceeds from the event went to Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity and mascot Theo was there to meet youngsters.

Anne, aged 62, of Wadsley, said: “I remember my school trip in the 1950s, we got a little booklet with a description of all the instruments in. I’ve never forgotten it.”
