Eleven-year-old Caitlin Cardie had one of the busiest days of her life - when she was chosen to become Rotherham’s ‘Little Mayor’.
It was the 23rd year in a row that a youngster has been chosen to experience the same packed schedule as the town’s first citizen.
The Thrybergh Comprehensive pupil accompanied the real Mayor, Coun John Foden, on a series of official engagements - once she’d been through a special robing ceremony and signed some official documents.
Next on the programme was the opening of the Fair’s Fayre disability awareness day at Magna, where Caitlin created an artwork as part of a series of craft sessions.
Next came guided tours of Rotherham Minster and the unique Chapel-on-the-Bridge, under the direction of Canon David Bliss.
The day ended on a lighter note with a visit to the Whistle Stop Sweet Shop - where Caitlin helped make toffee apples.
