The next stage of engineering work on Sheffield’s tram system is to get under way on Tuesday.

Work on tracks between Castle Square and Leopold Square is expected to run between June 2 and June 28.

It follows current work between Park Square and Castle Square that is scheduled to finish on Monday, June 1.

A revised timetable and service will be in place on the Yellow, Blue and Purple Supertram routes. Dedicated B7 and Y7 tram replacement bus services will operate to connect with trams between Fitzalan Square and Shalesmoor.

Further Supertram track is planned to be replaced between City Road and Gleadless Townend from June 29 until August 30.

Almost half of the 22km of track that is being replaced around the city has now been dealt with.
