Pedestrians seriously injured after being struck by car outside Sheffield railway station

Two pedestrians were seriously injured outside Sheffield’s railway station after they were struck by a car.

The 23-year-old woman and 24-year-old man were crossing Sheaf Street when they were hit by a black Vauxhall Corsa being driven by a 75-year-old man at 8.45pm last night.

South Yorkshire Police said the pedestrians were rushed to hospital with serious injuries.

The motorist involved escaped unharmed.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101.
