Police name 20-year-old killed in Sheffield crash

THIS is 20-year-old Lewis Shaw - the tragic young Sheffield man who died in a horror crash which left two others in hospital with serious injuries.

Lewis, from the Wisewood area, was a passenger in a car which crashed into a lamppost and overturned in Far Lane, Wadsley,

The driver and a passenger, both aged 18, were seriously injured.

A 17-year-old passenger escaped with minor injuries.

Today the heartbroken family of Lewis described him as “kind hearted, considerate and generous”

In a statement, issued by the police, they said: “Lewis was one of the most kind hearted people that we knew he would always put others before himself and always considered other people’s feelings, he was really generous and his brother Keiron’s best friend.

“All who know him will miss him loads and it will be an empty place without him.”

Police said they were travelling along Far Lane, Wadsley, when their silver Vauxhall Corsa ran out of control on a left hand bend and struck a sign before hitting a lamppost, overturning and colliding with a wall.

The crash happened at the junction with Dykes Lane on Thursday at 7.10pm.

Witnesses are being urged to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 1,005 of August 9.
