Woman taken to hospital after Sheffield crash

A woman has been taken to hospital following a crash between two vehicles on a busy Sheffield road this morning.

The incident happened on Prince of Wales Road shortly before 11am today, with traffic needing to be diverted as emergency services responded to the incident.

An eyewitness said a woman was stuck in a car, with firefighters called to the scene to help free her from the damaged vehicle.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “Emergency services were called at around 10.40am to reports of a collision in Prince of Wales Road, Sheffield.

“A blue Ford Fiesta and a blue Toyota Yaris were involved in the collision, near to the junction with Castlebeck Avenue.

“A woman driving the Fiesta was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.”
