TWO intrepid adventurers from Sheffield have started a year-long challenge – to ride a Tuk Tuk around the seven modern wonders of the world in a bid to raise £100,000 for Alzheimer’s Society and the charity War Child.

Stepbrothers Alexander Saxon, aged 30, and Kevan Pulfrey, aged 41, aim to cross mountains, deserts, rainforests and snow in a three-wheeled auto-rickshaw in covering 38 countries and 30,000 miles.

The route for ‘Tuk The High Road’ is designed to call at the Colosseum in Rome, the Taj Mahal in India, Angkor Wat in Cambodia, the Great Wall in China, Chitchen Itza in Mexico, Machu Picchu in Peru and Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.

The duo set themselves the challenge in memory of their grandmothers, who both died of dementia, and to help War Child, which protects children in war zones.
