AN EXPERT from the University of Sheffield is giving lectures over 24 hours today and tomorrow in aid of Children In Need.
Subjects for Dr Tim Richardson, of the Department of Physics and Astronomy, will include Harry Potter, aliens and how to make ice-cream from liquid nitrogen. Back-to-back lectures will take place at three venues, colour coded for the scientific knowledge they require.
“I think the biggest challenge will be keeping a reasonably strong voice and not coughing and spluttering too much,” said Dr Richardson.
“It was originally an idea I had a few years ago but kept quiet. When we were asked for ideas to do something for Children In Need, it just splurted out.”
Tickets cost £1.50 for each lecture or £4 for all of them.
