Sheffield Wednesday attracted a crowd estimated at up to 15,000 for their third annual community fun day.
Supporters flocked to Hillsborough Park, opposite the stadium, and formed a long queue for the opportunity to get an autograph and photograph with their heroes.
There was also a wide a range of entertainment for Sunday’s Owls in the Park, including fairground rides, sports activities and live music. John Rutherford, safety officer and event manager, said the event just kept getting bigger. “This is an opportunity to bring the whole Wednesday family together and thank our fantastic supporters. The turnout was fantastic and shows the fun day is a real success story.”
Jake Hutson-Williams, eight, of Parson Cross, said: “I can’t wait to meet the players, I’ve been queueing a while, but it will be worth it.”
