Sheffield has the highest number of at risk families with significantly more referrals to the social services for its size than any other city.

It also has a greater number of children living in poverty. And the Sheffield health and wellbeing reports suggests that the poor levels of mental health across the area, including depression and anxiety are likely to worsen in recession.

Today, members of the NSPCC in Sheffiled visited The Star offices to talk about their plans to raise awareness about a new Children’s Day for the city under the banner of Go Green for the NSPCC.
