Waiting for Video...

More than 10,000 people are expected to get to grips with Cliffhanger by the end of today - with bosses advising Sheffield families to arrive early on Sunday to beat the queues.

They described Saturday as busy as fun lovers turned up to watch and take part in many outdoor adventure sports on Saturday.

Gates were due to open again for the final day at Millhouses Park, Sheffield, from 10,30am to 6pm. Tickets are £6, with accompanied children going free.

It features climbing to caving, biking to fell running, orienteering, table tennis, water zorbs, free running and much more.

The event is aimed at sports enthusiasts, but caters for complete beginners and famiies.

And, weather depending, the annual event is expected to attract over 10,000 people, says organiser Matt Heason.

Matt said: “I would say come down here first thing because a lot of stuff gets queues. If there are specific things you want to do - for instance the free drop has been busy instantaneously. So come down as soon as you can.

“I can’t think of anything much better value to be honest. You would spend £6 on two rides at a fair.

“It does cater for everybody. Some of it a really skilled affair. But there have been a lot of families down here and it’s good to see.

“Depending on the weather we get betweeen 10,000 and 20,000 people over the two days. Fingers crossed we will get good numbers,” he told The Star.

“We’ve had positive feed back. There’s a nice vibe this weekend. Lots of people are having fun and the sun was out.

“I sincerely hope we will have more in future years. It’s as good as anywe’ve done. So all being well we will be back again next year.”
