A NEW £20,000 heating system is to be installed at Pitsmoor Methodist Church.
The church’s community rooms, on Burngreave Road, offer the largest venue in the area for meetings and events and are booked out solid throughout the week.
“The present system, which was installed in 1970, is inefficient and unreliable,” said a spokesman for the church.
“The new gas-fired system will be energy efficient - allowing heating to be switched off to certain rooms when they’re not in use.”
The work is expected to be completed by the end of the month after funding came through from several sources to make it possible.
Property Steward John Eaton says, ‘We are happy to get the project underway, therefore continuing the work of the church in the community.
“We are very grateful to all of our contributors.”
