We eagerly embrace the 21st century

Ask anyone locally if they know or have heard of Ashdell School, and the instant response is ‘that’s the school where the girls wear straw hats, and red blazers’.

Traditions like our uniform are important to us, but if you take a look under the straw hats, you’ll see a school maintaining its traditions but eagerly embracing the 21st century.

All our classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards; the girls use laptops, PCs and iPads on a daily basis.

Ashdell is the only school specialising in primary girls’ education in the area, and because of this uniqueness we can focus totally on your daughter’s needs, expectations and help nurture her talents, be they academic, musical, artistic or sporting.

Ashdell girls are confident, happy, polite and courteous and it’s a lot to do with the staff who teach and care for them.

Ashdell appreciates the working day of a parent is longer than their daughter’s school day, so is able to offer a wide variety of after school clubs, ranging from gymnastics, strings group, cookery and dance fit. There is an active Friends of Ashdell committee who regularly provide events for families and parents to get together socialize and become involved in school life.

Ashdell is more than just a school, it’s a family and we do our best to encourage our girls to value, respect and look after their school family as much as they do their own.

The next Open Day will take place on Saturday 6th October from 10am-12pm but appointments can be made with the school for private visits throughout the year. Ashdell is now registering for September 2013. To look around on a normal school day and see what your daughter can be a part of please ring Headteacher Anne Camm to arrange an appointment.
