A COUPLE in Millhouses are inviting visitors to look around their garden.
Hedley and Margaret Harper are holding open days at 122 Dobcroft Road on June 16 and 17 and July 15 as part of the National Gardens Scheme.
They raised around £2,000 for charity when they took part for the first time last year.
The garden has changed a lot since they moved into the house more than 30 years ago. “It was just mostly a lawn with a little bit of border,” said Hedley, aged 69, a retired charity director and former sales manager for United Biscuits.
“We’ve built in some herbaceous borders, two ponds and raised beds at the top. The only thing still in it from when we came is a big oak tree. It’s just in the right position to work the garden around it.”
The garden will be open from 11am to 5pm, admission £3, children free.
