THE hunt is on for Sheffield’s best bakers.
Seven Hills Women’s Institute has launched a search for cake and jam makers to take part in its Best in Show competition.
Residents are invited to make a Victoria Sponge or jarred goods such as jam, chutney, pickle, relish or curd for the contest which will take place this Sunday.
Ladies from the Seven Hills WI have organised the competition to coincide with Sheffield Food Festival.
The group will have a stall selling traditional cakes in the Winter Gardens throughout this weekend.
Lindsay Garfitt, president of Seven Hills WI, said they had top bakers in their group.
She said: “We had a wonderful time at the Sheffield Food Festival last year and are delighted to be taking part again.
“Our members are some of the best bakers around so everyone who visits our stall will be in for a real treat. And, if you think you could rival us in the baking stakes then we’d love you to enter!”
Entries cost £1 which will be donated to charity Haven House.
