FIVE thousand tons of soil will turn Sheffield’s Motorpoint Arena floor into a dirt track for the Future West ACU British Supercross Championship on Saturday, October 22.

Sheffield previously held 12 consecutive British Supercross events until 2008 when Heath Voss, Tommy Searle, Colton Facciotti and Jeff Alessi wowed the crowds.
The very first Sheffield event featured Jeremy “Showtime” McGrath, Damon Bradshaw and event winner Larry Ward back in 1997. The last Future West event at Sheffield was the 2009 FIM Indoor Enduro World Cup event which drew rave reviews from all in attendance.
Future West’s John Hellam had this to say: “After a three year absence of Supercross from Sheffield we are confident the venue and the Sheffield faithful are set for the return of British Supercross to its historical home”.
SX1 and British Supercross defending champ CCM’s Tom Church will be ready to take on the best of the Brits including fellow team mate and former British Motocross champion Stephen Sword.
Defending SX2 champion Jack Brunell is also expected to come out charging in the first round of the series along with a long list of top British riders.
As always British Supercross will also see the return of future champions with a full youth and clubman programme sprinkled in between the fantastic pro racing action.
New to Sheffield will be the four wheel quad class which always provides carnage and excitement and the very exciting head to head one on one half-time elimination races.
