STAFF from Sheffield Council’s waste contractor Veolia Environmental Services rolled up their sleeves and helped local gardening group Valley Community Gardens.
The volunteers built a raised planting bed, levelled a decking area, built some steps and weeded.
Valley Community Gardens was set up by over 20 Deepcar residents to grow their own food, get people active, improve the local area and boost community spirit.
Veolia donated £500 to the cause and a team of volunteers for a morning.
Dale Dyson from Veolia said: “The work that the Valley Community Gardens team does is so beneficial to the local area and I am pleased we could be a part of it.”
