LITTLE Megan Howford is queen of the keyboard - after achieving one of the highest marks possible in her piano exams.

The eight-year-old from Oxspring near Barnsley sailed through her music theory exam - and in her first practical exam achieved a score of 140.

Mum Katy said Megan had always loved music and was constantly singing.

“We bought her her first keyboard about two-and-a-half years ago and she had some lessons - but then we sent her to the Natalie Wilkinson Piano School in Chapeltown and since then she’s come on in leaps and bounds,” she said.

“She definitely has music in her and so we really want to encourage her with her piano playing.”

Megan, a pupil at Oxspring Primary School, enjoys the music of Michael Jackson, JLS and Adele.

Megan’s piano teacher Natalie said she was the school’s Student of the Month.

“I’m very proud of Megan’s determination and look forward to tutoring her in the future,” she said.”
