THE Sick Children’s Trust’s Branching Out Appeal total now stands at almost £160,000 thanks partly to the support of Sheffield Telegraph readers.
The running total has been growing steadily since the local appeal was launched in the Telegraph at the end of March.
It includes an anonymous donation of £1,000 in the last week from a local businessman who read the articles about the work at Treetop House and the plans to build a second ‘Home from Home’ close to the hospital.
Telegraph editor David Todd said: “It’s fantastic to see readers are getting behind the appeal. Every donation is important and we hope it will inspire others to get involved.
“We have also had a couple of lovely letters from readers who were unaware of The Sick Children’s Trust but now want to help in any way they can.’’
