Am I the only one?

I wonder if I’m the only one who got suckered into accepting the British Gas offer of a fixed price tarrif for my duel fuel account till 2016?

At the begining of November I received a letter from British Gas offering a deal to fix my bill till 2016, with all the price increases I thought this a good offer and accepted the offer. Imagine how gutted I was to hear a cut in prices of about £50 which I cannot get because of the deal I already accepted. Now what I want to know is how long has British Gas known this cut was in the pipeline? Did the company know BEFORE sending the Fixed Price letters to customers that the £50 cut would come into effect and if so is this underhand? Every thing is covered by British Gas because if you opt out of the Fixed Price deal, a £50 charge is administered.
