Cost of fee was met by council

From: David Caulfield

Head of Planning, Sheffield City Council

Further to your recent article about the submission of a planning application (reference 11/02245/FUL) to erect a war memorial in Balm Green Gardens, backed by former Lord Mayor Graham Oxley, I wish to point out a factual inaccuracy that was contained within the article.

This relates to the quote attributed to Gerald Duniec, stating that the council had failed to waive the planning application fee and that the cost had been met by Coda Studios.

I can, in fact, confirm that no fee was received by the council (as confirmed by Coda Studio’s own covering letter submitted with the application) and that the cost of the fee has been met by the council’s Planning Service.
