Job club sessions were a big help

It was most interesting to see the article regarding Emma Harrison of A4e and her new initiative helping people (particularly families) back into work.

I attended several “job club” sessions with A4e at the Arundel Gate site during periods of unemployment and very helpful it was.

My main problem in applying for jobs was in producing a professionally prepared CV curriculum vitae.

I had managed to gain the all-important interviews for some pretty high powered posts with my hand written applications, so I must have been doing something right, but a fully prepared typed CV is vital, then as now.
