Little sympathy but shocked by charges

I can`t say I had a huge amount of sympathy with Tina Dempsey`s parking fine, and even less at her implied negative attitude to speed cameras. At the end of the day if you don`t pay to park you risk getting a fine, and similarly if drivers are arrogant enough (or stupid enough) to speed, then they risk prosecution.

However, I must say I agree wholeheartedly with her shock at the phone charges. Fifty one pence per minute? That`s an absolute disgrace. As far as I know many councils use Excel, but I`d have thought those phone charges on their own should make Excel Parking Services a company that no public body should do business with.
