I was very sorry to read in the Telegraph that councillor Ali Qadar is stepping down next May.
Coun Qadar has been known to me for a number of years and I found him to be very helpful, motivated, committed, hardworking and polite.
In 2003, was Dr Alam’s surgery at Abbeydale was being closed down, he helped us to collect 1100 signatures for a petition and held several meetings with NHS Sheffield and PCT southwest.
He also gives assistance to our after-school club and is helpful to all sections of the community.
He will be missed by me and I believe a large number of his constituents in the Nether Edge ward.
I hope he will consider standing again in local elections at a future date.
