Interesting to read the list of Sheffield pub interiors deemed worthy of protection (Telegraph, February 3)
Two omissions perhaps?
Fagans (formerly the Barrel, Broad Lane) has the only snug left in the city, while the Dog and Partridge, Trippet Lane, has some very old graffiti carved in the wordwork of the room (another snug ?) in the corner and a head moulding in the entrance.
And what about the Queens Ground at Hillsborough? Beautiful.perhaps finest piece of Ward’s stained glass surviving in Sheffield plus some nice panelling.
Any thoughts anyone?
