POKER-faced boxing legend Johnny Nelson is about to have a monster showdown with comeback kid Ryan Rhodes.
But they won't slug it out in the ring and it's not even war of words.

It will be more a battle of the brains as South Yorkshire's boxing greats try to psych one another out in a Monster-Sports charity poker event.

Soaps star actor Chris Walker will also be there to make sure it doesn't get nasty.

Poker fans are being invited to play against them – with bounty prizes for knocking them out of the fundraiser at the Ultimate Charity Vegas Experience, at Doncaster Racecourse, on Saturday, October 11.

There's also chance to win £10,000 for a Royal Flush on the top table and another £10,000 in a seven role dice game, subject to terms and conditions.

Other prizes include signed sporting memorabilia and tickets to Nelson's Testimonial dinner at Bramall Lane, on October 18.

And all net proceeds from the fundraiser will be divided up amongst local charities - one to be chosen by the outright winner.

It costs just £35 to take part in the poker tournament, starting at 2pm. Or for £15 there's a special poker academy, to learn how to play, from 1pm to 1.45pm.

- Nelson will sign copies of his book, Hard Road To Glory, at The Star Shop, York Street, Sheffield, tomorrow, from 11am to noon. Tickets will also be available for his Testimonial dinner. Buy on line at monster-sports.co.uk
