A SHEFFIELD man claims he has been suffering the drip-drip of misery for two-and-a-half years - due to a leaky roof at his council flat.
Leslie Hirst, who suffers from depression, says the problem at his first floor flat in Springvale Walk, Upperthorpe, is further dampening his spirits because he claims he has reported it six times.

The 42-year-old, who is on disability benefits, s
aid: "It's been happening since I moved in two and a half years ago. When it rains it comes into my living room and just keeps happening.

"Fortunately it hasn't damaged any of my belongings, but it just gets me down. It needs to be sorted out."

But council housing repair contractors Kier said their records showed the problem was only reported for the first time in March, and was treated as urgent, with workmen sent out the next day.

The company confirmed Mr Hirst had made a further report of a leak a week ago and arranged an appointment but the tenant was not at home when staff arrived at the agreed time.

Kier has asked Mr Hirst to re-arrange the appointment and has said it will make a further repair if necessary.
