X FACTOR finalists John and Edward were forced to flee the stage at a South Yorkshire nightclub after being pelted with bottles from the crowd.
Hundreds of disappointed fans were left in uproar after the pair - known as Jedward - were yanked from the stage at Barnsley's Escapade nightclub by a security team after performing just two songs.
The duo were supposed to sing four songs at the Barnsley club followed by a meet-and-greet in the VIP area.
Instead they were rushed offstage after the first two numbers and the meet-and-greet - which fans had paid to attend - was cut short.
"We're so disappointed, we didn't even get to sing Ghostbusters," the twins told The Star backstage, shortly before they were bundled out of the door.
Nightclub manager Bruce Drummond told The Star he was disappointed with the security team's decision to pull the pair out.
He said: "It was their choice to pull them out which looks bad on us and on the boys.
"The whole night was handled awkwardly and I've complained to the agency because their contract with us was not fulfilled.
"The twins were brilliant and what happened is no reflection on them.
"They were loving performing and chatting to the fans. I don't think their management team gave them a fair crack at it. They were calling the shots in quite a military fashion."
Kirsty Sykes from Barnsley said: "I paid £5 to gain access to the VIP area to meet them. Just before we got to the front of the queue their security grabbed them and they were gone, we're so disappointed."
Another fan added: "The two lads were obviously itching to talk to people and have their photos taken but their security were really on edge.
"The twins actually smiled and waved me over for a photo but I was quickly cleared out of the way."
The management team also refused to let The Star film a pre-arranged interview with the boys.
Barnsley's Escapade has been featuring the X Factor finalists every Wednesday night following their eviction with no problems.
Bruce confirmed that finalist Lloyd will be appearing next Wednesday.
A planned appearance by Jedward at Escapade nightclub in Chesterfield last night was due to go ahead.
A spokesman said they had stepped up security.
