Police investigate mass bird death

A POLICE probe is underway into an attack which left 230 pheasants dead on a north Derbyshire farm.
Police were called to Rotherham Road, Barlborough, when the lifeless bodies of the birds were discovered on Monday morning.

They had been bludgeoned to death and some had had their necks wrung.

The attack was carried out between 10.30pm on Sunday and 7.30am on Monday.

Anyone with information should call PC Jason Graham at Chesterfield police station on 0845 123333.
