POLICE today took the unusual step of releasing a picture of a neighbour from hell – in a bid to find out if she breaches her ASBO.
Michaela Barrett, aged 35, of Fife Street, Wincobank, Sheffield caused so much trouble on her street South Yorkshire Police installed CCTV cameras to capture her behaviour after neighbours suffered for two years.
Evidence gathered was used to take her to court for four public order offences, two counts of harassment and one offence of causing criminal damage.
Barrett received a three month prison sentence, suspended for 12 months, and a five year Anti-Social Behaviour Order.
The ASBO bans her from contacting directly or indirectly a list of named people in her neighbourhood.
She must not do anything likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress or likely to cause others to fear for their personal safety or safety of their property.
And if she is found breaching the ASBO she faces jail.
Sgt Dean Furniss, of the police anti-social behaviour team in Sheffield, said officers had arrested Barrett several times for her behaviour.
"The Anti-Social Behaviour Order was the result of months of hard work carried out by local Safer Neighbourhood Team officers, anti-social behaviour officers and our partner agencies," he said.
"South Yorkshire Police is committed to listening to our communities especially if their quality of life has been affected by others.
"This five-year Anti-Social Behaviour Order is a prime example of the police listening to the residents of Sheffield and acting accordingly on their behalf."
