A PEAK District school has rounded off celebrations to mark its 150th anniversary with the publication of a souvenir book.
Over 144 pages the book tells the story of Hathersage St Michael's CE School, tracing its history and development through photographs and text, and including personal memories from former pupils, staff and friends.
Events recalled include festivals,
residential and day trips, activities and school shows.
The year-long celebrations have also included the purchase of a new school flag and a matching banner, both showing the school badge and the old school motto.
The children all took part in a Victorian Day which re-enacted the opening of the school in 1858.
Friends met, some for the first time in 50 years, and reminisced as they looked at the photographs and chatted over cups of tea and cakes.
