A SOUTH Yorkshire headteacher has resigned after 10 years in his job.
David Martin has left his job at Northcliffe School, Conisbrough, just days before the start of the new term and after the school's GCSE results showed improvement.
He said: "I have felt very privileged to be headteacher for the last 10 years and
to have worked with so many talented students and colleagues.
"I feel that the time is now right for me to move on as the school moves towards the next exciting stage in its history."
Nigel Pattinson, headteacher of Armthorpe School, will work with the school in an advisory role.
