A WARNING has been issued to people to ignore letters saying they are due to inherit large sums of money.
A number of cases have been reported to South Yorkshire Police of residents receiving letters, allegedly from Chinese or South African banking institutions, claiming they are to inherit millions of US dollars following the death of a client who has n
o next of kin.

The letters say the dead clients share the surname of the person they are writing to.

Anyone who receives a letter should not hand over their details and instead call the South Yorkshire Police Economic Crime Unit on 0114 2202020.
