A SOUTH Yorkshire man has been arrested following the death of a young woman who was taken into a police station in a collapsed condition.
The woman, named by police as 20-year-old Michelle Greenwood from Knottingley near Wakefield in West Yorkshire, was taken into Thorne Police Station in Doncaster shortly before 4am on Saturday Morning.
She was then taken to Doncaster Royal Infirm
ary where she died a few hours later.
A post mortem examination revealed the cause of death to be strangulation.
Police officers cordoned off part of Thorne Police Station in Durham Avenue and sealed off the nearby junction of Selby Road and Ferry Road as they conducted their enquiries.
A man aged 28 from the Stainforth area of Doncaster was later arrested and is currently being questioned as part of the murder enquiry.
