It has been produced from information on their database of customers.

Are Yorkshire Men Most Likely to be in Debt?

According to the data someone struggling with debt is 37% more likely to be male, live in Yorkshire and most likely to read the Sun newspaper.

The information that Debt Free Direct amassed the results from looked at a number of factors. Some other interesting results that emerged from the data included:

• They would be 57% more likely to be from modest means

• Having children made them 36% more likely

• Being a shop worker or an office worker were the most likely professions held by people struggling with debt

What Popular Pastimes Were Likely to Lead to Debt?

Another interesting feature of the results put an emphasis on the kinds of activities and pastimes people did, and how likely each was to add to someone’s debt.

Some were more obvious than others such as people who enjoyed eating out were 576% more likely to be in debt and people who bought lots of music, 564% more likely.

Other pastimes and activities that increased the likelihood of debt included sport and exercise, going to the cinema and following a football team. However, there were some less expected results as anglers, gardeners and book worms were highly likely to be in debt with fans of reading 249% more likely.
