Holmesfield's classy batting line-up was on form this weekend in the First Division of the Sheaf Sports YDCL.
Ward (52), Rossington (87) and captain Pearson (52*) led them to 239-4 away at Sheffield Works Department. Ward's 6-38 from Ward then saw to it that Works were bowled out for 125 in a convincing win.

Parkhead took no prisoners as they close in on
back-to-back titles. 101 from Davis was the highlight of their 219-8 which also featured 63 from young Burkinshaw. Cox took 4-48 for Hundall who in reply only managed 157 with Marsh 44 not out.

A stunning 144 from Nick Rosling pushed Stanton to an unassailable 292-9 declared. Bottom club Collegiate were dismissed for 155 in the run chase.

And Mundy's 4-39 gave struggling Calver a sniff of victory away at University Staff, who closed on 114-8, but a capitulation with the bat allowed Gray to claim5-6 and left Calver 13 short, all out for 102.

Hathersage remain in the promotion spots in Division 2 after they defeated close contenders Parkhead II. Parkhead were bowled out for 147 with the consistent pairing of Nobrega (4-49) and Somerton (4-36) taking the credits. Despite 4-31 from Keywood for Parkhead, 44 from Percival allowed Hathersage to take the points.

Ridgeway look a safe bet for promotion after they chased down 198 against Centralians. Rhodes' 47 and Marshall's 44 were the highlights for Cents but the decisive performances were Roberts' 87 and Cartwright's 73 in a six-wicket win for Ridgeway.

The bottom two look cut adrift now after Youlgreave Lodge surrendered against Millhouses. 41 not out from Rehman helped Millhouses to a competitive 161-6 but Lodge were shot out for just 83.

Rodgers scored 92 of Sheepbridge's 198-6 against Stocksbridge which proved to be enough after Whittle's fine 6-40 kept Stocksbridge to 151 in reply.

Tom Skelton can consider himself an all- rounder, having scored over 450 runs in the league this year and taking 5-47 on Saturday to restrict Chesterfield Barbarians to 112 with Denby carrying his bat for 55. Tom Outram scored 50 as Grindleford won by seven wickets.

In the Third Division 6-34 from Peach kept SWD II to a manageable 150-9 against Bakewell who won by seven wickets thanks to 80 from Maid.

Walkley declared on 231-9 with Frith making 56 and Shaw taking 5-69. Collegiate V offered little resistance and were bowled out for 39 with Evans 5-11.

S Khan's 51 and R Khan's 46 were the key contributions for Millhouses II as they were eventually bowled out for 206. Simmerson's 46 was in vain for De La Salle II who were bowled out for 156.
