Bramall Lane is to stage a mouthwatering clash between England and Germany featuring international footballing legends.
The game – part of ITV's Legends series being televised through the summer – will be on Thursday, August 7 and aid the Chinese earthquake appeal.
England will be looking for revenge after a 4-2 defeat two years ago before a crowd of more than 25,0
00 at Reading's Madejski Stadium.
The squad will be managed by former Everton, Manchester City and England midfielder Peter Reid. He said: "The current England Legends are a completely different team to the one that lost to Germany in 2006, and we will show that on August 7.
"Since the defeat we've comfortably beaten a Rest of the World team and Scotland but we know the true test will come against Mattheus, Sammer, Freund and the likes.
"This is the only chance an England football team will get to put one over Germany this summer and we'll need every red-blooded English man and woman at Bramall Lane to cheer us on to victory."
Sheffield United Chairman Kevin McCabe said: "We are proud to host this event on behalf of the city and help raise funds for the victims of the earthquake appeal in Sichuan province where our club the Chengdu Blades are based."
Broadcast live on ITV4, the fixture marks the second game in a three-game summer 2008 Legends Series. In May, the England Legends kicked off their summer schedule with a 2-0 win over Scotland at St Mary's Stadium, Southampton, with goals from Stan Collymore and Steve Hodge.
The England and Germany line-ups will be announced in the lead-up to the game.
Tickets are £10 for adults (over 16) and £5 for children/OAPs by visiting the Bramall Lane box office or by calling Sheffield United on 0871 2221889.
